Simple rules that help the service run safely and smoothly
These terms are based on the current Dumpawaste Dumpabag conditions and explain where the bag can be placed, how it should be filled and what happens when you arrange an empty.
Positioning of the bag
Dumpawaste allows staff up to 40 minutes to empty a Dumpabag and the bags are emptied by hand. This means the bag does not have to be positioned at the roadside. It can be placed in a front garden, back garden, garage, house or even a loft where safe access is available.
If staff need to walk through the property, protective sheets can be used where appropriate. Position the bag where filling is easiest for you, but make sure the carrying route remains safe and practical.
Filling the bag
The Dumpabag must not be loaded above the top. If it is overloaded, an additional charge may apply.
Because the bag is emptied by hand within the on-site time allowance, very heavy materials need extra care. Soil and rubble should generally be kept to no more than three-quarters of a bag.
If prohibited items are found, they may be left behind. Plasterboard requires special handling and may carry an additional charge, so contact Dumpawaste before placing it in the bag.
Arranging an empty
When the bag is ready, contact Dumpawaste by phone or through the website. The current service aims to arrange an empty within 3 working days at a suitable time.
Use the correct online emptying option for the waste type in the bag so the booking and disposal route match the material being collected.
Emptying your bag
The price charged is the current website price on the day the emptying is booked. Prices may change if disposal or tipping costs change.
Two Dumpawaste staff attend and aim to empty the bag within the 40-minute on-site allowance. Care is taken not to damage the bag during emptying, and suitable waste is taken away for processing and recycling.
Keeping and reusing your bag
Once the bag has been emptied, it is handed back to you. The Dumpabag is yours to keep, store and use again for future waste.
